Week 5
On the 24th of October, we were required to observe and animate either a push, pull or lift exercise. I chose to animate a lift:

On the 25th, we had our first ever class working on 3D animation. We used Autodesk Maya to craft an airplane and make it go in circles.
On the 26th we had another acting workshop. This time we were focusing on how tense and aware our bodied are in different situations and circumstances. We had to work with a partner through Levels 1 to 7 (1 – Release, 2 – California, 3 – Economic, 4 – Alert, 5 – Suspence, 6 – Passion, and 7 – ) Here are some of the observational sketches from class:

Week 6
On the 1st of November, we had our first-ever specialisation session. I chose to move forward with 3D classes and we spent the first class getting familiar with Maya and its controls. We took it slow by animating Bonky (a pink little blobby character with only eyes to express emotions) and had it bounce around and emote all day. Here is some of the work from class:
We had our second character design class on the 2nd. We had to come up with a character and answer 7 questions about them.

Week 7
We had a full day Character Design class on monday the 7th of November. We worked with silhouettes, shapes and colours for our further developing our characters. I’d misunderstood the first exercise and drawn silhouettes of all the characters in the story, but corrected that in the redo.

On the 8th, in 3D class, we started working with Binky for the first time and we animated a walk cycle using his model.
Week 8
We finally reached the walk cycle class for 2D on the 14th of November. We had to animate a mood change walk.
In week 3 of 3D class and week 8 of the term, we started playing around with a moodchange walk and a voiceover exercise
In the last Character design class, we worked on a character turnaround sheet, expression/pose sheet and the final character sheet
